Diet Drug Acomplia heads to United Arab Emirates

Diet Drug Rimonabant, also renowned
as Acomplia and Zimulti,
now will work wonder in the United Arab Emirates, according to the
drug's developer, Sanofi-Aventis.
A credible support for the treatment of obesity
in overweight people with cardiometabolic risk factors, the qualified
drug has been available on European stores for about a year and
available for purchase in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico as well.
And this is the first time that it is been launched with prior announcement
in the Middle East.
Under the recent survey conducted on UAE population,
almost 37 percent people out of the total population are found obese,
which is among the top obesity rates in the Middle East, claims
the drug developer.
"Obesity is observed common among people who have
excessive fat around their abdomen or who are with a high risk of
developing an abnormal lipid profile, heart disease and type 2 diabetes";
said Dr. Wael Al Mahmeed, Vice President of the Emirates Cardiac
Society.
"Rimonabant
is a key progress in the cure of cardio-metabolic risk factors which
contribute significantly to the mounting rate of diabetes and cardiovascular
disease worldwide," Al Mahmeed added.
